Batley, GE, van Dam, RA, Warne, MStJ, Chapman, JC, Fox, DR, Hickey, CW & Stauber, JL 2018

Provides the technical rationale for key changes to the derivation method for water quality toxicant guideline values and supplements another report, by Warne et al (2018). This report was prepared in June 2014 by CSIRO in consultation with selected expert members from the Toxicants and Sediments Working Group, as part of the revision of the ANZECC & ARMCANZ (2000) guidelines. The original report was updated in 2018 and provides the rationale for the superseded derivation methods published by Warne et al. 2015 and 2018.

Although this report still provides useful supporting information for the current version of the toxicant guideline values derivation method (Warne et al. 2025), it is not a formal supplement to the current method.
